From the very first moment I began sharing my thoughts and feelings with the world, pushing aside the fear of how I might be criticized by others, I began to experience a calmer and more peaceful state of mind.

I've lived through some tough times, and the years have taken their toll, but I've never felt more alive than I do right now.
Life has it's ups and downs, but to live our best lives, we must find ways to remain optimistic and embrace a genuinely positive attitude, because the lives we have pictured seldom go as planned.
The experience of two nearly fatal accidents and a heart attack has a helped teach me patience.
Divorce, financial disparity, and my current battle with a debilitating disease have tested my resilience.
The good side of all that? It's possible that I'm the happiest person you'll ever meet.
I know how incredibly blessed I am and I'm filled with gratitude for my wonderful family and the great many precious friends who are in my life - Despite my challenges, I consider myself to be one of the luckiest people alive!
I met with a friend one evening who was looking for new employment opportunities. I received an email from her the next morning that my have contained the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me.
It read: "I could feel the positivity and happiness radiate from you". I will treasure her words forever.
I've recently retired and have dedicated the balance of my life to helping others in any way that I can.
My plan is to share what I have learned with others and invite anyone who wishes to walk along with me, as I work to make the most of my one and only life experience.

The greatness of nature can overwhelm the insignificant chatter by which we measure most of our days. If you have the wisdom and the courage to go to nature alone, the larger rhythms, the eternal hum, will make itself known all the sooner. When you have found it, it will always be there for you. The peace without will become the peace within, and you will be able to return to it in your heart wherever you find yourself. ~ Kent Nerburn |
The Battle Against Negativity"Through the practice of deep looking, we can identify the positive seeds that we want to water every day, and train ourselves not to water the negative ones."
~ Thich Nhat Hanh The battle begins at birth. From, the time we are born, we have the ability to feel both positive and negative emotions. These emotions and the way that they affect us are Organic and we were born with genetic set-points that govern them.
Positive emotions like Excitement, Amusement, Trust/Love and Feelings of Wonder make us Happy. We want and crave more of them in our lives. Negative emotions like Fear, Jealousy, Anger, and Frustration make us unhappy. We want and need less of them in our lives. Positivity is fleeting. and Happiness is transient. While Negativity and the sadness, anger or other emotions it produces, can last a very long time by comparison. It's due to something called "Negativity Bias" . When we are happy, our bias towards negativity doesn't want us to stay that way. So what can we do? We can change the balance by Optimizing the Organic Positivity that resides within us. We can successfully improve our Positivity Ratio. Research performed in the Field of Positive Psychology has given us the information we need to do just that. I've seen it change my life, and it can change yours too. |

"You didn't come this far to only come this far"So many of us get "stuck" with only random thoughts and ideas on how we can build a great future for ourselves. I've been there. I felt like the key was just to work hard, trust the system and hope it paid off. It didn't work for me. It doesn't work for most of us anymore.
As Seth Godin says: "the system is broken". This is where coaching helps. An experienced coach will provide the guidance that will help you plan for, and take control of your own future. |
